Heaters and Coolers

Heaters and Coolers are used in applications which only one process fluid is heated or cooled, and a heat transfer media (heating or cooling) is not available.

Fired heaters are used to heat process fluids by combustion of a fuel. These typically include applications such as thermal fluid heating, process gas and liquid heating.

EconoCool coolers and Air Coolers are self contained heat exchangers which cool the process fluid using either air or air and water to cool the fluid.

  • Air Cooled Heat Exchangers

Air cooled heat exchangers are heat exchangers which are used to cool a process fluid using air as the cooling medium. The air is pushed or pulled across a tubular coil (typically finned tubes). Air coolers are used in many cases, including those which other cooling mediums are not available and high temperature applications which water will cause fouling if used for cooling.

  • Fired Heaters

Fired heaters are used for process heating applications which heat media is not available or is not hot enough. These heaters can include various types. Helical Coil heaters are used for thermal oil heating, regeneration gas heating and other applications. Convection heaters are used for temperature sensitive applications, intermittent heat applications and other applications which radiant heat transfer is problematic. Bath heaters are used for temperature sensitive applications, always on applications and various applications which the flame must be kept separate from the process by an intermediate fluid.

  • EconoCool Coolers

The EconoCool cooler is used where only one process fluid is involved (and is cooled) and a cooling media is not present. The EconoCool unit combines the process of a cooling tower and a heat exchanger into a single unit without large cooling water pumps, piping, or process heat exchangers. By combining sensible heat transfer […]
